11 february 2014

AUTO EXPOT MART
I am giving new information about skoda viechle which has intrudeced new car .
the Indian market largely due to a lack of new products, on Monday launched a refreshed version of its executive saloon Superb at a price of  Rs. 18.87-25.20 lakh (ex showroom Delhi).
The Superb competes with Volkswagen Passat, Nissan Teana and Toyota Camry.
Skoda has made cosmetic changes in the car, even though it has been a leader in its segment, to bring it in line with its new design language that was first seen in the Octavia last year. The front and rear end have been redesigned, but the engine remains unaltered. The car is offered in manual and automatic versions in petrol and just an automatic version in diesel.
Skoda said it intends to launch more products soon. The redesigned Yeti showcased at the ongoing Auto Expo is expected to hit the road later this year. The Yeti is Skoda’s only sports utility vehicle in India.
“We have been a little off pace in India in recent years but with the Octavia last year and now with Superb and Yeti we hope to get back in the game,” said Werner Eichhorn, member of the board of management for sales and marketing, Skoda Auto. “We are looking at all possible segments for new products. There would be a new Fabia soon and also an SUV bigger than the Yeti.”
The overhauled small car Fabia is expected to be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show next month, and is likely to come to India in 2015.

Toyota to exit car and engine production from 2017! Follows Ford, GM path to exit

Toyota to exit car and engine production from 2017! Follows Ford, GM path to exit

Toyota has announced this week that it will stop producing its cars and engines in Australia by the end of 2017. With this thousands of people in (both direct and indirect) jobs will lose their source of livelihoods.

Toyota is not the first company to do so. Before this popular Innova making company, General Motors and Ford Motors also announced that they will exit Australia. The reason – “high costs and a strong currency make it an unattractive production base” says Reuters.

Toyota Australia President Max Yasuda informed "we did everything that we could to transform our business, but the reality is that there are too many factors beyond our control that make it unviable to build cars in Australia" in a press statement.

The company further says "our focus will now be to work with our employees, suppliers, government and the unions as we transition to a national sales and distribution company. Support services will be available to our employees and we will do everything that we can to minimise the impact of this decision on our employees and suppliers."

The exit will happen by the year 2017 leaving 2500 people jobless.

Facebook Again Hints At Ad Network With Test Of Mobile App Ads

Maybe the third time's a charm. Facebook is again conducting a test of running ads in other companies' mobile apps, in another sign that the social network could be mulling a wider advertising network of the kind that has brought billions of dollars to Google and independent ad networks.
Indeed, the latest announcement, made in a couple of blog posts by the company today aimed at businesses and developers, comes closer to a Facebook ad network yet. Given that at least two previous tests didn't produce such a network, though, it could be awhile before anything materializes. Here's what Facebook says it's doing:
As mobile continues to move to more app-based experiences, advertisers want to reach people spending their time in apps and developers need new ways to make money.
To improve the relevancy of the ads people see, provide even greater reach for Facebook advertisers and help mobile developers better monetize their apps, we’re running a small test to show Facebook ads in mobile apps. Our aim is to demonstrate even greater reach with the same power of Facebook targeting for advertisers both on and off Facebook.
While we have run similar tests in the past, this current test is more like a mobile ad network in that we are working directly with a small number of advertisers and publishers rather than an outside ad-serving platform.
The current test is limited to a few advertisers and partners, and we will share more details over the coming months.
Facebook already runs an ad exchange that allows advertisers to use their consumer data to run ads on Facebook. This test goes the other way, allowing advertisers to use Facebook data such as Page Likes and expressed interests to run ads on other mobile apps. They wouldn't necessarily look like Facebook ads.
While Facebook has clearly been thinking along these lines for at least a couple of years, there may be more urgency now. Twitter bought the mobile ad exchange MoPub in September, independent ad network Millennial Media has recently expanded its reach, and Google continues to advance on several fronts in mobile advertising, so Facebook needs to make sure it has the broadest possible offering.

Will bring a couple of new cars every year: Tata Motors

Will bring a couple of new cars every year: Tata Motors

10 february 2014

After losing out to rivals in the Indian passenger vehicles market, Tata Motors is plotting a comeback with a sense of urgency. Admitting that a lack of new products has hurt the company, it has promised to bring a couple of new models every year.

With the new hatchback Bolt and compact sedan Zest slated for launch in the second half of the calender year, the firm is looking for the much-needed kick-start for revival under its 2020 product plan.
"Starting from this year, we will launch Bolt and Zest and we are working very hard on product development... every year we will bring couple of new models," Tata Motors president (passenger vehicles business unit) Ranjit Yadav told PTI.
Underlining the urgency with which the company is working to introduce new models in the market, he said: "The Nexon, for example, that would be commercialised and will be available for the sale in next 24 months. So you can see that the portfolio starts to get up filled very quickly."
Nexon is a concept compact sports utility vehicle that was unveiled at the Auto Expo in New Delhi. He further said between Nexon Bolt and Zest, there will be many other launches as well.
"Every year we are looking to launch a couple of new cars," he added but declined to comment on whether these new cars would be on brand new platforms or variants of existing models.
When asked if the slowness in introducing new products has affected the company's market standings, he said: "We have not introduced (a model) which has been a huge volume player in the last 3-4 years. That's quite obvious. That is something we are changing as we go forward."
Reiterating that the company's aim is to be a "podium finisher" in the Indian passenger vehicles market, he said: "There is a backlog which we have to catch up. Something we have to exceed."
It has fallen behind rival Mahindra & Mahindra in the pecking order in India.
In the April-January period this fiscal, the company's passenger vehicle sales stood at 1,14,490 units as against 1,99,186 units in the year-ago period, down 42%.
Stressing the need to be nimble-footed, Yadav said: "If you look at the global markets, we are not a very large passenger vehicle manufacturer, if we have to be successful, then we have to be faster. That's the attempt from our side."
On the overall market scenario, Yadav said it still remained a challenge

Jaguar Land Rover's latest award-winning products made their Indian debut at the 12th Delhi Auto Expo Motor Show today. Amongst the star attractions, the Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe was unveiled by India's racing driver, Narain Karthikeyan and the Range Rover long wheelbase by leading Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra.
The celebrities appeared alongside Jaguar Land Rover's new Indian product range, including the latest Land Rover Discovery and the Range Rover Evoque with 9-speed transmission. Also making their much anticipated Indian debut were the Jaguar C-X17 crossover concept and the D-Type inspired Project 7 concept car.
Jaguar Land Rover CEO, Dr. Ralf Speth said:
"We are here in India to showcase the very latest offerings from our two great British brands. India continues to be an important and dynamic market for Jaguar Land Rover with year on year sales growth. This demonstrates that we are delivering our promise to create exciting products and unrivalled customer experiences. We aim to enhance the potential of the Indian market by growing our dealer network by 25 per cent this year and will now manufacture our flagship model, the Jaguar XJ, in Pune".
Today, the company confirmed that Jaguar's flagship model, the XJ, would become the third model to be made at the firm's local manufacturing facility in Pune, following the introduction of the Land Rover Freelander 2 in 2011 and Jaguar XF in 2013.
To support future growth in the Indian market, Jaguar Land Rover is continuing to expand its dealer network. Today the company has a network of 19 distribution outlets across 17 cities with a plan to increase this to 24 by the end of the fiscal year.
Jaguar Land Rover, now in its sixth year of Tata Motors Limited ownership, delivered its best ever full year global sales performance in 2013, retailing 425,006 vehicles - a 19 per cent increase over the previous year. Sales records were set in thirty eight international markets for both brands.
This positive trend is reflected in India where the Jaguar and Land Rover brands have gained significant prominence and popularity since entering the market in 2009. Retail sales were up by 21 per cent in 2013 and Jaguar was one of the fastest growing luxury car brands in the country
