Big Bazaar tries to catch ‘em young
New Delhi, April 17:
Big Bazaar, the hypermarket chain owned by the
Future Group, is taking digital stride to attract consumers other than
homemakers. The company has introduced m-vouchers, which guarantee cash
returns on any purchase during its two-week long ‘April Utsav’.
“There is lot of impetus on digital technology. While
conventional media advertisements co-exist, we are looking at schemes
targeting young and tech savvy consumers. We have introduced a new
response-based mobile service for customers who want to reach us through
their phones by just giving a missed call,” Big Bazaar Chief Marketing
Officer Akshay Mehrotra, said.
While food and grocery will continue to remain a focus
area, the company said it was looking to attract new consumers to
apparels and electronics.
Mehrotra, without divulging any revenue figures, said the company was looking to add at least one crore new customers.
