Honda Amaze launch in India

 The Honda Amaze is all set to hit showroom floors today as its commercial launch gets underway in New Delhi.


- The launch function is happening at the Le Meridian in New Delhi, where the pricing of the Amaze will be announced shortly.

- The Honda Amaze is highly awaited in the Indian market, primarily owing to the fact that it debuts Honda’s first diesel engine for India. It is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder oilburner that puts out 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque.

- The Amaze will also be available with a frugal petrol engine - a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 88 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque, with a claimed fuel economy of 18 kmpl. The Amaze petrol will also be available with a 5-speed automatic gearbox as an option and claims a fuel economy of 15 kmpl for the same.

- The Honda Amaze petrol will be sold in six trim levels (four for the manual variant and two for the automatic variant).

- The Honda Amaze diesel will be available in four trim levels.

- Mr Yoshiyuki Matsumoto now addresses the media. He talks about how Honda is now focusing of speedy development of products that are specifically designed for specific markets.

- Cost competitiveness is also of high priority while developing this are-specific models.

- The products are designed and developed keeping in mind the specific needs and aspirations of that market.

- Therefore the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine has been specifically for the Indian market and the Amaze is the first Honda car to use that India. The car was developed in Honda's facility in Thailand.

- Honda is positive that the Amaze and the i-DTEC engine will amaze the Indian market and with this Mr Matsumoto concludes his address.
