​Honda to invest Rs 2,500cr for a new car plant

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
NEW DELHI: Japanese car major Honda on Tuesday said it will pump in Rs 2,500 crore in India to double its production capacity to 2.4 lakh units annually as it drives in new models in the market.

The fresh investment will come in for a car assembly and diesel engine component production line at Tapukara in Rajasthan's Alwar district . The new plant will be operational by 2014 and will be Honda's second manufacturing facility in the market.

The company's current factory is located at Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
