PCM Group buys RAIL.ONE GmbH

A private sector group based in Siliguri in North Bengal with varied interests, announced on Monday that it had acquired RAIL.ONE GmbH, a 118-year-old German rail infrastructure company with plants in seven countries.

Railone, which has on its rolls 600 employees in Germany, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Spain, South Korea, Turkey and Hungary, is a comprehensive systems and engineering provider for passenger, freight, and heavy-haul transport.

With its patented RHEDA 2000® ballast less track system, the company has achieved an internationally leading position in the field of high-speed rail transportation, according to a release.

Announcing the acquisition, Kamal Kumar Mittal, Chairman of the Siliguri-based PCM Group, said: “We are excited about this acquisition as it further strengthens our portfolio and expertise and network .”
