SpiceJet to compensate flyers for flight delay
6th MAY 2014
SpiceJet, to woo passengers, especially business
travellers, has announced an ‘On-Time Guarantee’ programme wherein the
airline guarantees to compensate passengers in case of a flight delay
and cancellation due to reasons under its control.
Covering
all passengers, this programme comes into effect from May 6. Affected
passengers due to flight delay of more than 60 minutes (due to reasons
in control of SpiceJet) will be given Rs.500 voucher for their next
travel, the airline said.
Similarly, passengers
travelling on flights which are cancelled or delayed by over 120 minutes
(due to reasons in SpiceJet’s control) will be given a voucher of
Rs.1,000.
“This programme, however, does not cover
for any delay due to reasons not in our control such as weather, air
traffic congestions, among others,” SpiceJet said.
“This
is our way of ensuring our customers that we will continue to deliver
our On Time Performance. We are not just saying it but guaranteeing that
we will not delay our flight,” Kaneswaran Avili, Chief Commercial
Officer, SpiceJet, said in a statement.
All
redemptions can be made on spicejet.com. As soon as the flight gets
delayed or cancelled, passengers will receive a message and mail (used
at the time of booking) indicating voucher details and redemption
process.
Affected customers can also claim On Time Guarantee vouchers by visiting the airline’s website.
