Nokia unveils 4G tab, five new smartphones SAN FRANCISCO: Nokia on Tuesday unveiled its first tablet and largescreen smartphones, also known as phablets, which will form a part of Microsoft’s global push to become a leading player in consumer devices when it takes over Nokia’s handset business.

The 4G-enabled Lumia 2520 tablet, along with the Lumia 1320 and 1520 phones are the latest products from Nokia’s stable.
The Lumia 2520, available in red and white in a glossy finish as well as cyan and black in a matte finish, is likely to cost customers around ` 40,000 before taxes. Nokia will provide the keyboard at additional cost of $149 (about ` 9,000) before taxes. The device, which has a 10-inch screen, boasts of a 6.7 MegaPixel camera and Zeiss optics.
The phablets, Lumia 1520 (costing $799 or about R46,000) and a less-expensive Lumia 1320 (at $339 or about ` 21,000), have a six-inch screen, and are likely to take on a multitude of similar devices from Samsung.
No timeline for the launch of these products in India were shared by the company.
The company also unveiled its three economy segment smartphones in the Asha series — Nokia Asha 500, 502 and the first 3G phone in the series, 503 for $69, $89 and $99 before taxes.NAME- RAJ GAURAV
