Weekends are for clicking.
Weekends are for clicking.
A blog appearing on AppFlood's site today claims that marketers' click-through rates are 30% higher on mobile ads on weekends than they are during the week. The mobile ad platform arrived at this conclusion after analyzing some 300 million mobile ad impressions in the United States between August and September.
CTR trends track almost identically on Saturdays and Sundays, when click volume peaks at 8 a.m. and holds at steadily high levels until 6 p.m. Weekday clicks take off when the workday ends at 6 p.m. Click rates hit their nadir between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on weekdays.
On the average day, clicks drop off precipitously from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., falling by 63% over that period. Between 11 p.m. and midnight, however, clicks jump back by 11%, lending credence to the widely held belief that more people these days spend their last waking hours in bed with their smartphones than with their mates.
