Nissan India ships 300,000th car from Chennai facility

Nissan Motor India on Friday said it has shipped the 300,000th car made from its Chennai facility, which was commissioned three years ago.

Nissan India president Kenichiro Yomura said the company began exports in September 2010 and is the first auto company to use the Ennore Port as an export gateway.

Currently, Nissan exports to over 100 countries/regions, including Africa, West Asia and Europe.

Commenting on the milestone, Yomura said the achievement underscores the company's manufacturing capabilities. The company has a 10-year agreement with the Ennore Port for shipments, he added.
