iPhone 6 to start selling in India at ` 53K, pre-booking begins today 

  NEW DELHI: The much-awaited Apple’s iPhone 6 series will be available in India at ` 53,50080,500 beginning October 17.

The US-based company’s authorised distributor Ingram Micro on Monday announced that it will start pre-booking of the latest iPhone 6 series from October 7, which will be available in retail stores from October 17.
Vendors are offering the smartphones for ` 46,000-56,000 on different e-commerce websites.
According to Amazon’s website, the iPhone 6 is selling for around $750, including shipping cost, in the US, which amounts to about ` 46,000 in India.
The iPhone 6 series in India is priced about 10 to 17% higher compared to its retail price in the US.
Both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus will be available in three variants with storage capacities of 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.
The iPhone 6 plus models scheduled to be sold in India has been priced at ` 62,500, ` 71,500 and ` 80,500 respectively. The iPhone 6 will be available for ` 53,500, ` 62,500 and ` 71,500.
The premium smartphones will be sold through Redington, Ingram Micro, Rashi Peripherals and Reliance. Customers can preorder both models beginning October 7 at 12:01 am at major retail outlets of these companies.
The pre-booking facility will also be available be across websites of the distributors.
While the iPhone 6 has 4.7 inch screen, iPhone 6 plus has 5.5 inch display. Both models have 8 MP camera and support 2G, 3G and 4G networks. The previous version of the iPhone series, iPhone 5S, was launched in India at a price starting ` 53,500.
