Rupee gains 14 paise against dollar in early trade Press Trust of India, September 21, 2011 ( Mumbai )

The Indian rupee rose by 14 paise to Rs. 47.91 a dollar in early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange on Wednesday on continued foreign capital inflows and euro gains against the American currency overseas.
Appreciation of other Asian currencies against the US dollar also supported the rupee's rise.
Forex dealers said sustained foreign capital inflows into the Indian market and dollar weakness in overseas markets mainly provided support to the rupee.
The rupee had lost 24 paise in the previous session to Rs. 48.05/06 per dollar, a level not seen since the last week of September, 2009.
Meanwhile, the Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex rose by 48.82 points, or 0.29 per cent, to 17,148.10 in opening trade on Wednesday
